Sverdlovsk Railways Museum of History, Science and Machinery is located in the building of the first railway station of Ekaterinburg, created by architect P.P. Schreiber. The building is a monument of history and culture of the nineteenth century.
Before the museum there are standing railroad sculptures - the chief of the station, the Ways of Communication workers and master conductor. The sculptures presented here successfully beat the full-scale exhibits, as reproduced in the comical and nostalgic form.
The museum exposition is built on an industry basis, it reflects the history of science and technology in chronological order. Conditionally exhibition is divided into 2 parts: the historical and technical. The historical part includes the period from the creation of the first Russian locomotive E.A. and M.E. Cherepanov, construction and operation of the Ural metallurgical and Perm roads to the modern period of reforming transport.
