Olenyi Ruchyi Nature Park located in a specially protected area, is one of the most visited natural sites of the region. Visitors are attracted by its beautiful forests, clear waters of the Serga, numerous picturesque rocks, grottoes, and caves. Many caves here have a historical importance. Prehistoric paintings and settlements of about 15 thousand years old had been found here. The central part of the park has several well-developed routes about 40 km long all together. One of the few manmade attractions here is the sculpture of an angel, installed here by the Swedish artist Lena Edwall. Similar sculptures appeared in different countries around the world, they are believed to create a circle of hope around the planet and protect it from fears and catastrophes. The first gold rush in the world history started in the Urals after a local peasant Yerofey Markov on May 21, 1745 (150 years before the Klondike discovery described by Jack London) found the first Russian vein gold here. The town of Beryozovskiy symbolizes the history of gold mining, thus it is called the homeland of the Russian gold. At the moment, the mine in Beryozovskiy is considered the longest active in the world. The town has the only in the country Museum of Gold. During the tour you can also visit the monument at the site of the first Ural gold mine and travel down the training shaft of the mining rescue rangers.

The old town of Nevyansk was the capital of the Demidovs’ empire. The family’s private armories and mining companies had started the active development of the Urals. Located in the very center of the town is the Leaning Tower of Nevyansk — a symbol of the power the most famous manufacturers dynasty the Urals once had. It’s a unique exemplar of industrial architecture of the first half of the 17th century. The tower is also known for its mysterious “hearing room” where a word whispered in one corner is clearly heard in the opposite diagonal one. The history museum in Nevyansk displays almost 300 icons and offers a tour of the icon painting workshop. The town is also known for Nevyansk school of icon painting that originated in the Old Believers community of the mining Urals of the 18-19th centuries. Villages of Verkhniye Tavolgi and Nizhniye Tavolgi in the vicinity of Nevyansk are known for their pottery craftsmen. As part of the tour, visitors may take a direct part in the process: work on a potter's wheel, learn the techniques using plaster molds, and the art of painting the ceramics.

Sysert is the hometown of a writer Pavel Bazhov who was born here in 1879 to the family of an ironworks welding shop master. The town is pleasantly located on flanks of the Sysert River valley, near the ponds among conifer forests. Bazhov House Museum includes a two-storey outbuilding with a living room, kitchen, storeroom, a porch and some other structures. The museum exhibition reflects the distinctive features of the Ural workers lifestyle.
From an early age Bazhov traveled a lot around the Urals.The images of mysterious and severe nature of these lands were subsequently embodied in many of his tales, essays, and novels. In the vicinity of Sysert you can hike to the unique natural monument — mountain lake Talkov Kamen, located on the territory of The Bazhov’s Places vast nature
park. You can also visit Kholzan Center for Rehabilitation and Monitoring of Birds of Prey with many unique birds (goshawk, kestrel, peregrine falcon, sparrow hawk, buzzard, steppe eagle, white-tailed eagle and others). The Hawk Hunt show demonstrates the falcon flight with lure (bird simulator) attack, flight and landing of steppe eagle from and on hand, guiding the flight of a bird of prey.

Verkhoturye is an old town in Sverdlovsk Oblast founded in 1598 on the banks of the Tura. Today, it is one of the main centers of Orthodox christian culture in the Urals. The main attraction is church complex of St. Nicholas Monastery, where the relics of St. Simeon of Verkhoturye are preserved. Krestovozdvizhenskiy (Exaltation of the Holy Cross) Cathedral of the monastery is one of the largest churches in Russia. Located on a hill above the Tura there’s also a stone kremlin fortress with five historic monuments: Holy Trinity Cathedral, Voivode’s House, Prikaz Chambers, Uyezd Treasury, and the State Strehouse. In the vicinity, you can also visit the village of Merkushino where in 1692 the coffin with relics of Saint Simeon of Verkhoturye revealed itself from under the ground and the holy spring arose here.

Kungur Ice Cave (280 km)
Kungur Cave is one of the largest karstic caves in Russia, it is a unique natural geological site about 10-12 thousand years old. The ice cave is about 5,600 m long, of which about 1,500 m is equipped for visitors — with walking paths, reinforced arches in some grottos, as well as electricity and spotlights along the route. During the tour,
visitors get a chance to not only learn the secrets of one of the oldest monuments created by nature itself, but also watch an exciting laser show. There are many legends about the cave. According to one of them, in 1578-1579 Yermak’s troops spent the winter in this area during their long journey to explore and conquest Siberia on behalf of the Russian merchants and the Tsar himself. Today at the territory of the tourist complex near the cave there’s the Yermak’s Village theme park, which tells about history,
ethnography, and culture of the Russian people. The venue organizes traditional Russian holidays and theme tours for children.

Chortovo Gorodishche (Devil’s Settlement) Rocks (25 km)
Chortovo Gorodishche is a sheer vertical wall consisting of granite slabs of volcanic origin. The age of the natural monument is about 300 million years. The rocks are beautifully weathered, which provides an endless scope for an artist’s or photographer’s imagination. A wide panorama of the surrounding mountains, forests, and lakes opens from the top of the rocks.
